Khese and Serima’s engagement party at the historic Green Room in Folkestone (Kent) was a beautiful blend of timeless elegance and fresh, modern style. Set against the backdrop of the Grand Hotel’s stunning grounds, the venue’s Edwardian charm was the perfect canvas for their celebration. From the moment we met, it was clear how thoughtful and creative the couple was, and how much they cared about crafting a memorable experience for their guests. Working closely together, we refined every detail of their event, making sure the styling reflected their vision and personal style — all while staying within their budget. The result? A stylish and welcoming celebration with soft greens, ambient candlelight, and beautiful touches that made their special day truly unforgettable.

A Celebration Full of Warmth
Working with Khese and Serima was an absolute joy. From the moment we met, it was clear how thoughtful and creative they were — and how much they cared about giving their guests a beautiful experience. We spent a lot of time together in the lead-up to the event, refining every detail of the styling to make sure it was just right. They came to us with a clear vision, and it was our pleasure to bring it to life — delivering the right vibe, the right details, and all within the budget they had in mind.
Set in the stunning Green Room at Folkestone’s historic Grand Hotel grounds, their engagement party brought together timeless Edwardian charm with fresh, elegant styling — a perfect setting for a celebration of love.
Creating the Vision: Heritage-Inspired Styling with a Soft, Modern Twist
The Green Room itself is a beautiful space — rich in character, soft green tones, and elegant Edwardian detailing. Khese and Serima wanted to honour the space’s heritage while introducing a fresh, modern feel. With 80 guests attending, they opted for round banquet tables to encourage connection and movement in the space.
To elevate the setting, we dressed each table in crisp white linen, steamed to perfection. Our white chair covers created a clean, timeless base, and were tied with flowing olive green sashes — a nod to the venue’s natural colour palette. For added softness, sage green cheesecloth runners flowed across the tables, adding gentle texture and movement to the overall design.

Lighting the Mood: Elegant Candlelight and Refined Details
One of the couple’s key requests was plenty of candlelight — to create an intimate, glowing atmosphere for their celebration. This became a central feature in our table styling. Each table featured a silver lantern as its focal point, accompanied by a mirrored base to reflect the candlelight beautifully. Alongside the lantern sat a small vase of white faux florals and two differently sized tea lights for added depth and dimension.
To finish the look, we added glass candle holders with elegant taper candles to either side of the arrangement, allowing the table runners to weave gently around them. The result was a romantic, softly lit scene that perfectly suited the occasion.
Finishing Touches with Heart
We also provided white linen for the buffet table, helping to tie the styling together across the space. As a personal touch, we were delighted to lay out the sweet favours Khese and Serima had lovingly prepared for their guests — a small but meaningful detail that added warmth to the evening.
A Venue Full of Character
The Green Room team were a delight to work with, and it was such a treat to style this unique venue, full of seaside history and charm. The space came alive with the soft styling elements and ambient candlelight — and most importantly, it felt completely them.
