Whimsical Romance at The Ravenswood: Beth & Alex’s Two-Part Celebration

Some weddings are especially close to our hearts — and Beth and Alex’s was one of them. Both are dear friends of Maisie’s and have supported Blooming Roza since the very beginning (you might even spot Beth in a few of our styled shoots!). So, being part of their wedding journey felt incredibly special.

From their intimate London registry ceremony to the whimsical countryside celebration at The Ravenswood in West Sussex, it was a joy to bring together floral and styling elements that reflected their fun-loving personalities and deep connection. Every moment, every detail was filled with warmth, meaning, and magic — just like them.

The Registry Day: Personal, Meaningful, and Full of Joy

For their legal ceremony in London — the city they’ve built a life together in — Beth and Alex wanted a relaxed vibe. It was an intimate celebration with close friends and personal touches throughout.

The Flowers

Simple, cheerful, and deeply meaningful was the brief — and we loved designing for it.

Beth’s Bouquet

We created a soft and joyful mix of:

  • Peonies (her absolute favourite)
  • White Lisianthus
  • Dill
  • Purple Stock Flowers
  • Deep Pink & Blush Roses
  • White Freesias
  • Huckleberry Foliage

Tucked into the centre was a very special bloom — a rose from a garden planted in memory of someone dear to Beth. It was a subtle, beautiful tribute woven into the bouquet.

Clean and classic, with:

  • Blush Rose
  • Lisianthus Buds
  • Greenery

After the ceremony, they shared a joyful few hours exploring London and enjoying time with their friends — exactly the relaxed, love-filled day they’d hoped for.

The Celebrant Wedding: Fairytale Dreams Come True in the Sussex Countryside

For their main wedding celebration, Beth and Alex chose The Ravenswood near East Grinstead — a romantic countryside venue perfect for their whimsical style.

They worked with a talented team of suppliers to bring their vision to life, and we were lucky enough to contribute some floral and styling elements that added those all-important personal touches.

Petal Confetti for a Fairytale Moment

Beth and Alex wanted a biodegradable, petal-based confetti — both eco-friendly and full of storybook charm. We dried a dreamy mix of:

  • White Rose Petals
  • Burgundy Rose Petals
  • Blush Rose Petals
  • Lilac Flower Petals

These soft colours beautifully matched their palette of blush pink, sage green, and burgundy. We also had time to dry blooms from Beth’s bouquet from their London day, giving the confetti even more sentimental value.

Tablescapes Inspired by Friendship and Fairytales

One of our favourite elements of their day was the table decor — designed from an idea born on a 2023 road trip Beth and Maisie took together. Wandering through the Lake District, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Haworth, they found endless inspiration in the rolling landscapes and literary landmarks.

We provided:

  • Log Centrepiece bases
  • Faux moss detail
  • Vintage perfume bottles filled with fairy lights (found on that very trip!)
  • Wooden Table numbers
  • Vintage Books (a nod to Beth’s love of reading)
  • Vases for the bridesmaids’ bouquets (florals by Chirpee Flowers)

It came together to create a beautifully whimsical, vintage-meets-fairytale vibe — softly lit and full of personal touches.

Magical Details & Personal Touches

Beth and Alex’s style was playful, romantic, and full of wonder — and we loved getting to bring that to life through thoughtful styling:

  • Blush glitter charger plates – Bringing subtle sparkle to each table setting.
  • Wooden lanterns with LED candles & fairylights – Used for the ceremony and repurposed for the wedding breakfast.
  • White tree for the memory table – Decorated with photos and miniature lanterns, handmade by Maisie, inspired by Tangled, Beth’s favourite Disney film. Each one had a glowing bulb inside for a soft, firefly effect.
  • Floral pocket squares – We hand-crafted elegant pocket squares from faux florals for the groom, groomsmen, and fathers of the bride. These added a stylish and coordinated touch to the wedding party’s outfits, tying in beautifully with the rest of the floral styling.
