Preservation Methods
Preserving flowers is a delicate and highly detailed art. Every bloom is assessed and treated with care to ensure it retains as much beauty, shape, and colour as possible.
Pressed Flower Preservation
Each individual flower receives careful attention throughout its transformation. For certain blooms, such as the classic rose, a process of gentle deconstruction unfolds. Each petal is carefully separated and placed within the press, later to be carefully reconstructed by hand, recreating the flower’s original form in a flattened state. Other floral elements are preserved in their entirety, requiring subtle adjustments to ensure they rest gracefully and as evenly as possible within the press.
These botanical treasures reside in our specialised presses for approximately four weeks, allowing for thorough and complete drying. Once the drying process is complete, each flower is carefully retrieved and thoughtfully arranged by the artist. Using adhesive, the dried blooms are then precisely positioned within your selected frame, creating a lasting work of art. This intricate and time-honored process demands many hours of focused care and unwavering precision, resulting in a truly unique and cherished piece.

Whole Flower Drying
(for Shadow Boxes and Full-Bouquet Displays)
For those who want to preserve the full form of their bouquet, we use one of two specialised drying techniques:
Dry Hanging: Each stem is individually prepared and hung to dry for 4–6 weeks.
Sand Drying: Flower heads are submerged in specialised sand to remove moisture while maintaining their colour and shape. This process can take 4-6 weeks.
Shadow boxes are highly recommended for this method to protect your flowers from dust and damp, keeping them safe and intact for years to come.

The Detail in Our Work
These prices reflect not only the materials but the dozens of hours of careful, skilled work involved in preserving, reconstructing, and presenting your florals beautifully. Each piece is crafted with intention, artistry, and respect for the memories your flowers hold.
Framing Options and Discounts
To make our pressed flower art more accessible, we offer a discount when you choose a frame with a single glass layer and an opaque background – what we’d call a standard frame, which beautifully showcases the pressed flowers. Furthermore, for the environmentally conscious, we can source reclaimed frames, which also qualify for a discount. Please note that frames with a double glass layer, creating a fully transparent display, are priced starting from our regular range.
Bespoke Commissions
In addition to our full floral designs, we sometimes undertake commissions that incorporate minimal florals or small, personal objects supplied by you. The pricing for these bespoke pieces is determined by the complexity and time required for their creation, and they often represent a more budget-friendly option compared to our standard offerings. For projects featuring a full arrangement of pressed flowers, the prices remain as initially described.
The Art of Flower Preservation
Pressing and preserving flowers is a delicate process that depends on a range of factors—some blooms press or dry beautifully, whilst others may not hold their shape or colour as well. Flower type, size, hydration, and how long they’ve been cut can all influence the final result. That’s why it’s always best to speak with your preservation artist ahead of time, especially when planning for something as meaningful as a bouquet or tribute. We’re here to guide you through the options and help recommend the best method for your flowers.

Ideally, reach out before your wedding, celebration, or farewell event. This allows us to plan the preservation process and secure availability. While we can sometimes accept last-minute bookings, this depends on flower condition and artist capacity.
Not all flowers press or dry equally. Results depend on how hydrated the flowers are, their structure, and how long they’ve been cut. We’re always available to offer guidance—this is why working with a professional preservation artist can make a big difference.
We’ll provide instructions for delivery or shipping depending on your location. The sooner we receive your flowers after the event, the better their condition and final result.
